Innovation and Accreditation: Implementing Quality Standards

Event Date: September 15, 2010

12:00 to 1:30 PM

Program Overview
The National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education have existed for over 20 years and have been revised several times as healthcare and DSME have evolved. Would you like to be more confident in your understanding about how best to implement the current version of the quality standards, particularly if you are in the process of, or plan to develop different education delivery methods/models? Because DSMT accreditation is necessary for reimbursement, assurance of successful implementation and maintenance of accreditation standards is an important element for sustainability. This program will discuss each of the 10 standards and provide examples of their implementation in settings outside of the more traditional hospital-based programs.
